Sea Containers launches new sustainably sourced suite collection
FuturePlus member, Sea Containers London has launched a stunning new suite collection in partnership with Vinterior, the UK’s leading marketplace for vintage and pre-loved furniture.
Curated by Lore Group Creative Director Jacu Strauss, the four bespoke Cabin Suites celebrate iconic design eras, from Edwardian elegance to 80s glamour, while championing conscious luxury.
Every piece within the suites has been sustainably sourced through Vinterior, extending the life of beautiful design and reducing waste. This collaboration blends storytelling, style, and sustainability, showing that high-end hospitality can (and should) tread lightly on the planet.
ASA bans adverts over misleading compostability claims
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned adverts from Dualit and Lavazza Coffee over misleading compostability claims.
The authority has ruled that both companies misled consumers by describing their products as “compostable” without clearly stating that they could not be composted at home.
As part of our consultancy work with Grind Coffee, we ensured the brand’s sustainability strategy had clear and evidence-based compostability claims.
FuturePlus’ work with Grind Coffee has ranged from helping to set up Grind’s charitable foundation, Better Coffee Foundation, to co-ordinating an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) for its iconic compostable coffee pods.
An LCA analyses the environmental impact (and increasingly the economic and social impact) at every stage of a product’s life cycle – from raw material extraction ('cradle'), manufacturing and processing, transportation, use, and retail, through to waste disposal, reuse, or recycling ('grave').
Innovation Zero
Thank you to everyone who came to see us at our stand at Innovation Zero on Tuesday and Wednesday.
It was an incredible two days at the UK's largest net zero congress with some exciting conversations being started for new businesses joining the FuturePlus community as well as potential new partnerships.
We also received some excellent feedback from our co-founder, Mike Penrose’s ‘Turning Data into Business Intelligence’ talk.
