One Hundred Shoreditch team aid in makeover of community centre

Last weekend, FuturePlus member, One Hundred Shoreditch partnered with EARNT on a project to makeover the Samuda Community Centre, Club 55, in East London.

The team at One Hundred Shoreditch engaged volunteers to join the project to make repairs, clean and decorate the community centre.

The centre is at the heart of the local community, an anchor for the hundreds of locals who utilise it weekly. Due to restricted budgets, the centre has fallen into a state of disrepair.

Congratulations to the whole team!

Mars announces initiative to tackle dairy supply chain’s carbon footprint

This week, Mars announced the launch of its ‘Moo’ving Dairy Forward’ initiative, which is aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of its dairy sourcing.

The initiative will be backed by $47 million of investment over three years.

Raw ingredients make up over 70% of the company’s overall GHG emissions, with dairy being the second largest contributor. Mars’ products require the dairy from more than 200,000 cows and 1,000 farms.

“Doing our part to keep our planet healthy is an absolute non-negotiable for us at Mars. But our vision for more sustainable dairy will only become a reality with the support and actions of farmers and our suppliers. Which is why, as part of our Moo’ving Dairy Forward Sustainable Dairy Plan, we’re putting millions of dollars directly back into the pockets of farmers through our contracts to help them make climate smart changes to the way they farm. Together, I know that we can forge a path that helps address climate change head on and contributes to reshaping our wider industry for a more sustainable future.” - Amanda Davies, Chief R&D, Procurement and Sustainability Officer, Mars Snacking
